A market leading insurance broker is looking to hire a Business Analyst to support the growth and development of the IT team.

In this position the candidate will be expected to support the project Technical Leads and Project Manager in eliciting the information needed to efficiently define and analyse the business and system requirements within the project.  


Duties:
 

  • Represent the IT department at a number of review meetings to capture the requirements that arise and to feedback salient details to members of the IT management team, as well as provide pertinent input into the meetings themselves.
  • Contribute to the authoring of Project Outline Documents, Project Initiation Documents, Project Change Requests, Requirements Documents and Functional specification.
  • Support the creation of test cases, by leveraging the knowledge gained in the requirements gathering to shape key test cases and outcomes.
  • Undertake research or investigations on a basic fact-finding mission, and present your findings in a range of styles, either as written word, as spreadsheets, visually or graphically or a permutation of all of these.


Skills and Qualifications:

Extensive experience working in a previous Business Analyst role.

  • Insurance sector experience and understanding of the different departments e.g. Claims, Underwriting, Broking, supporting departments and end clients to be able to formulate the right questions and understand the responses given. 
  • Broad experience of working on a range of IT based projects and possess enough technical acumen to express business needs into clear functional requirements. 
  • Strong communication skills and able to develop good working relationships with stakeholders. Strong data analytical skills using both Excel and SQL would be a distinct advantage.
