Our client, a widely respected Lloyd's Broker, have an exciting opportunity to join their successful UK claims consulting offering and are interested to hear from accountants with good experience in the quantification of Business Interruption claims.


Acting as an integral part of the team the successful applicant will provide:

  • Support in the management and presentation of property damage and business interruption (PDBI) claims.
  • Undertake assessment / stress testing of Sums Insured adequacy
  • Maximum / Normal Loss Expectancy scenario building on behalf of major national and global corporate clients. 

 

Role Responsibilities

  • Calculating complex business interruption claims 
  • Attending/leading claims meetings with clients, insurers and legal representatives 
  • Challenging insurers, loss adjusters and experts to ensure clients achieve the best possible
  • outcomes 
  • Understanding and interpreting PDBI policy language and coverage  
  • Supporting the Regional Claims Team and wider claims community with advice and training regarding technical issues on Property Damage/Business Interruption related topics 

 

Candidate Profile

  • ACCA qualified or working towards
  • Applicants must have an established technical skill set in the field of PDBI claims, policy wordings and coverage
  • Candidates will be highly proficient in business interruption claims and be familiar with how to put them together and present them to the market so as to achieve the best possible outcomes for our clients
  • An understanding of the legal principles and key decisions which underpin PDBI claims
  • An organised and easily understandable approach to the discussion of business interruption claims with clients and internal stakeholders
  • An ability to communicate effectively and professionally both verbally and in writing with clients, insurers, adjusters and internal stakeholders
  • A desire to operate with a low level of supervision with responsibility for key aspects of the client relationship, particularly in respect of large loss property damage claims
  • The ability to take responsibility for delivering upon agreed outcomes
  • Willingness and ability to continue to develop knowledge through formal and informal learning, both internal and external to the company
  • Responsibility for providing general assistance, training and technical support to the wider claims community on Property Damage/Business Interruption claims processes and principles
  • An understanding of regulatory controls and procedures relating to both commercial and retail customers, if applicable
  • A willingness to travel across the UK at short notice as required to assist clients where large losses occur
