This role is for an experienced London Underwriting Operations Manager to work with the Specialty, Commercial and Lloyd’s Underwriting teams to manage underwriting processes and maintain high standards of operational service.
The candidate will be responsible for the operational performance of the London Underwriting teams with focus on processing activities throughout the policy lifecycle.
The London Underwriting Operations Manager will have a proven track record of operational management in a specialty insurance environment with detailed knowledge of distribution through a range of channels, IT systems used and business processes. They will provide expertise to sponsor operational improvement initiatives.
The role will have responsibility for managing a team of underwriting support experts and will be able to provide guidance and mentoring to underwriters and support staff on best practice for processing complex insurance contracts.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience in the London insurance market;
- Background in Operations or business support functions in Insurance with experience of managing teams and supporting underwriting activities;
- Subject matter expert London insurance policy processing and market practices;
- Experience working with Lloyd’s and London market risks, in particular the processing, controls and minimum standards required by regulatory bodies;
- Knowledge of market best practice and change initiatives and how they impact brokers and insurers
