Our client are a specialist insurance and commercial disputes law firm based in the City of London which regularly acts in complex, high value and high profile claims. They act for London Market Insurers (Lloyd’s Syndicates and major company market insurers) and companies across a wide range of sectors. They specialise in the following:

• Insurance Disputes (Defence of Insurance Claims including Construction, CAR, Professional Negligence, D&O, EL/PL, Property, Product Liability, Personal Injury; Subrogation; Coverage for Insurers and Policy Holders; and Reinsurance);
• Construction & Engineering Disputes (including cladding claims, pre/post-completion damage and defects claims etc);
• Commercial Disputes (Commercial claims/defences, breach of contract, supply of goods and services etc).

Duties and Responsibilities

Working across a varied caseload taking all necessary steps to meet client objectives including:

• Managing a caseload under the supervision of one of the Directors/other Senior Lawyers
• Investigating claims: liability, quantum etc and reporting to insurer and insured clients
• Instructing experts, counsel and preparing reports, witness statements, court documents and liaising with clients, other parties and the court etc
• Supporting the business development of the company

You will be:

• A Solicitor or Barrister with 5+ years PQE (or a foreign qualified lawyer authorised to practice in the UK with a commensurate level of qualified experience) in private practice in insurance, construction or commercial disputes
• A self-starter with the ability to organise and prioritise workload
• A team player working collaboratively with the directors and other lawyers
• Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines and targets
• Experienced in defending professional liability claims (desirable)
