A specialist digitally focused Lloyd's Syndicate is currently recruiting for an Actuarial Portfolio Manager for their London team.
Summary
- To work closely with the Head of Portfolio Management and Senior Portfolio Managers to build out the Portfolio Management Strategy and manage a team of analysts to proactively drive improved underwriting performance via the use of analytics.
- To propose actions and assist with decision-making on all portfolios that the business writes with the objective of enhancing the balance, quality and mix of the business.
- To drive forward the level of analytical sophistication provided to the business and shape & build the Portfolio Underwriting Toolkit of the future including processes, governance, management information etc.
- To help build a portfolio management function which implements data-led decisions to optimise its portfolio
Experience and skills Required
- Strong commercial general insurance Lloyd’s/company market experience
- Experience of Reinsurance Pricing in the Lloyd's arena
- Strong analytic skills: qualified actuary OR significant experience in technical underwriting
- Have a strong grasp of actuarial, aggregation and/or portfolio management techniques to enhance the analytic capabilities of the portfolio management team
- Effective communication of analytical results to diverse personnel
- Ability to lead projects and manage the future pipeline of work
- SQL and/or Python coding experience would be a major advantage, with minimum strong excel skills
