A leading London market insurance business is currently recruiting for a Divisional Financial Controller.
Partnering with the Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) for a specific division within this company, the successful applicant will be responsible for the management and monitoring of all aspects of the financial performance, including Finance related processes arising from the class of business function, be expected to monitor the accuracy and completeness of the class specific Profit & Loss (P&L) and Balance Sheet that contribute to the wider legal entity financials for Lloyd’s Syndicate and Company papers, prepare budgeted financial and performance analysis for both the Syndicate Buiness Forecast (SBF) and annual GAAP budges, assist in providing the Board with accurate exhibits and wider reporting relating to class specific underwriting results, performance against budget and associated operating costs and expenses.
Suitable applicants will be qualified accountants with at least 5+ years relevant experience gained with the London insurance market, have knowledge of Lloyd’s accounting rules and insurance technical accounting, Lloyd’s and London Market practices and international insurance markets, the FCA / PRA regulatory framework, Solvency II, US GAAP principles, UK Tax, VAT and International fiscal arrangements, company accounting practices and tax implications, Syndicate Business Planning (SBP), Reinsurance principles and company audit procedures.
