A global Reinsurance underwriting business is recruiting for an Assistant Syndicate Controller.
Reporting to the Finance Director the successful candidate will focus primarily on Regulatory Reporting for European entities. This role has responsibility for financial accounting, internal controls, budgeting, and financial reporting within Regulatory Reporting. You will also be responsible for understanding the financial performance, providing financial insight to stakeholders and business partnering at the regional level to support the Company’s strategic objectives. You will be responsible for managing the local team and actively developing team members (with the support of the Finance Director). This role has close interaction across multiple areas of the business and works with the wider Global Finance Team to add value across relevant teams.
Applicants will be qualified accountants with strong experience gained within a Lloyd’s underwriting business, have knowledge of UK / US GAAP and Lloyd’s reporting requirements, working knowledge of general ledger systems and policy administration/accounting systems and experience of managing team members and building high-performing teams.
