A global specialty Insurance and Reinsurance Company is currently recruiting for a Quality Control Technician to join the Underwriting Operations team, initially for a 12-month FTC. The Quality Control Technician will support both the writing companies, covering: London ‘Companies Market’ and European ‘Companies Market’.

The objective of this role is to assist in delivering accurate data captures, proactively query manage and promoting best practice within the Underwriting teams.

The operations team supports business processing, liaising with other functions to ensure efficiency & effectiveness across a broad array of activities from policy specific transaction support to change management and on-boarding.

Duties and Responsibilities include:
  • Oversee department operations such as submission, submission flow management, policy endorsements, renewal processing, and peer review
  • Steward the daily underwriting "housekeeping" activities
  • Act as the main point of contact and triage for any cross functional requests, which may include any requests and queries related to data used for outwards reporting, outwards reinsurance, compliance, or financial close
  • Close collaboration with our strategic outsourcing partner
  • Provide support to Data Management ensuring that Underwriting Guidelines are adhered to and underwriting controls are performed Skills

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:  
The successful candidate will ideally have the following:
  • Experience within Underwriting Operations
  • A good insight into the (re)insurance industry, ideally across a variety of lines of business
