A London market underwriting business which is on a rapid growth path is recruiting for a Group Accountant.
Reporting to the Group Reporting Manager and supervising 4 members of staff, the Group Accountant will be responsible for journal postings in the multicurrency ledger and ensuring adherence to the local GAAP and tax rules for overseas entities.
More specifically this will include (but not limited to) ensuring correct journal posting based on IFRS and local GAAP standard across all entities, be responsible for correct accounts payable posting and management of the module within the ledger, ensuring IFRS technical accounting standards are appropriately applied, consolidation of accounts and production of monthly, as well as quarterly reports, submission of all statutory and regulatory returns including tax across all countries operated in, preparation of FCA reports on a quarterly basis, working closely with the FP&A team to align technical accounting with business requirements, VAT returns, representing the technical accounting team for the new accountancy software implementation project, and ad-hoc requests from the Finance Director, as required.
Suitable candidates will be qualified accountants with previous experience gained within the insurance industry, have assisted with or prepared MI reports and statutory accounts within a multi-currency environment, have a good understanding of balance sheet drivers and have managed staff previously.
