An established MGA and Lloyd’s Syndicate is recruiting for a Chief Financial Officer.

As the CFO you will play a key role on the Board and Executive Committee, working closely with the CEO to help define, drive, and deliver the commercial objectives of the business. You will lead on the planning, implementation, managing and controlling of all financial-related activities, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness is provided by the Finance team.

Principal responsibilities will be to develop the finance strategy and provide executive leadership in the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives and offer recommendations to enhance financial performance, direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance function, provide key insights on strategic initiatives by performing financial modelling to measure impact, profitability and return on investment of capital, ownership of preparation and filing of statutory accounts for all companies, develop, manage, and monitor the company’s annual budget/forecasts with CEO, CAO and COO, develop and implement a financial internal controls framework to ensure that the company complies with financial procedures and regulations, develop and maintain all necessary systems, policies, and procedures to ensure effective and efficient financial management within the company, assess the current structure of the finance department and oversee all finance personnel, making changes where needed, and manage ad-hoc financial projects such as global reporting project and SOX compliance.

Suitable applicants will be qualified accountants with at least 10+ years’ experience operating as a senior finance leader within the insurance industry, have strong experience of consolidation accounting with foreign currency impacts, have a high level of knowledge and awareness of IFRS and US GAAP accounting standards, experience of finance / business improvement projects including systems implementations and be able to manage a finance team that delivers to the business on an international basis.
