A leading London market Reinsurance company is recruiting for a new Reinsurance Accounting Operations Manager.
Reporting to the Finance Director the successful applicant will be responsible for leading the Company’s reinsurance accountants who are directly responsible for handling all contract bookings, cash transactions and processing aspects of claim notifications.
Key responsibilities will be to provide technical support to reinsurance accountants and the underwriting team in relation to treatment of complex or unique contracts, conduct formal performance appraisals for the reinsurance accounting team, monitor the reinsurance accounting team to ensure reinsurance accounting transactions are captured in a timely manner in the reinsurance accounting system, ensure that all relevant deadlines and SOX requirements are met, provide support to internal / external auditors as required, attend and participate in quarterly change review meetings, continuously seek process efficiencies and propose implementation / work re-organization plans, undertake / support internal projects related to reinsurance transactional data, processes, systems migrations, or enhancements, etc. as required and assist with finance project work, initiatives and implementations.
Suitable applicants will be qualified accountants with at least 5 years’ finance operations experience gained within a reinsurance business, have working knowledge of US GAAP / IFRS for insurance and reinsurance, possess strong analytical skills and have experience in assessing technical accounting queries.
