Title: Title Underwriter

As a Junior Title Underwriter, you will play a crucial role in evaluating and analysing property title documents to ensure the accuracy and legality of property transactions. Key Responsibilities:
- Title Examination: Review and analyse property title documents, including deeds, mortgages, liens, and other records to identify potential risks or issues.
- Risk Assessment: Assess the risk associated with issuing title insurance policies, ensuring compliance with company guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Client Interaction: Communicate with clients, lenders, lawyers and other stakeholders to gather information and clarify any discrepancies in title documents.
- Problem Resolution: Identify and resolve title defects, working closely with senior underwriters and legal counsel to mitigate risks.
- Research: Conduct thorough research on property titles and related matters to support underwriting decisions.
- Compliance: Ensure all underwriting activities comply with industry regulations, company policies, and best practices.
Qualifications:
- A Law Degree with some work experience, perhaps as a Paralegal
- Experience or knowledge of the property industry and title insurance is preferred though not essential
- Strong analytical and research skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
