Our client, a leader in the insurance and financial services industry, is recruiting a proactive and detail-oriented Group VAT Accountant to join their expanding team.
The purpose of the role is to ensure compliance with UK VAT regulations and maximise tax efficiency for the Group. You will support corporate VAT compliance and reporting functions for UK and international group companies, working closely with Group Tax Managers.
Duties include preparing annual VAT returns, calculating quarterly VAT payments, developing best practices in VAT accounting, assisting the UK Tax Team with ad-hoc projects, and identifying process improvements. You will also be involved in international VAT ensuring compliance and efficiency across various jurisdictions.
The ideal candidate will hold a professional ACCA/ACA and CCAB or ATT qualification. Experience in a similar role, a strong understanding of UK VAT and international VAT legislation, excellent organisational and time management skills, attention to detail, and strong communication skills are essential. Knowledge of Excel skills are desirable.
