Our client, a respected leader in the Lloyd's insurance brokerage industry, is recruiting a proactive and detail-oriented IBA Accounts Handler to join their expanding team in Southend, Essex.
The purpose of the role is to manage insurance-based accounts and ensure efficient financial operations within the company. You will support the Accounts Manager and Accounts Supervisor in various accounting functions, contributing to the financial health and compliance of the organisation.
Duties include cash matching and allocation, preparing statements for underwriters, clients, and third-party accounts, chasing outstanding premiums, and managing un-reconciled receipts. You will also be responsible for preparing payment runs, running fortnightly credit control reports, addressing queries from banks, clients, and brokers, and maintaining accurate documentation. General office duties such as answering phones, scanning, and filing are also part of the role.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in an IBA role, a strong interest in the insurance industry, and excellent numerical, literacy, communicational, and organisational skills. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, familiarity with Brokasure, and the ability to manage time effectively are essential.
