Operations Control Manager

A Specialty Insurance Brokerage in London is searching for an Operations Control Manager to be at the forefront of ensuring robust risk management and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaboration: Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the 2nd and 3rd line teams to ensure a cohesive three lines of defence model.
  • Leadership: Manage and develop a team of Operations Control Associates.
  • Quality Assurance: Facilitate and undertake quality assurance activities, such as file checks and reviews.
  • Governance: Maintain and own all key process control artefacts and governance frameworks.
  • Risk Management: Conduct regular risk assessments, maintain risk registers, and track actions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous process improvement and undertake root cause and trend analysis of operational issues.
  • Communication: Regularly communicate changes to policies and procedures and promote an effective risk culture across the enterprise.

Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Qualifications: Preferably degree-level education or equivalent practical experience in operations, compliance, or risk management.
  • Experience: Strong background in operations, support, or middle/back office environments, with exposure to risk management and regulatory practices. Experience in the insurance, broking, or underwriting sectors is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and presentation skills. Proficiency in MS Office and a proactive, problem-solving mindset are essential.
  • Attributes: Highly motivated, results-focused, and possessing a high degree of integrity.
