A London market non-life re/insurance service provider is recruiting a Reconciliation Analyst on a 6-month fix term contract basis.
As a Reconciliation Analyst you will help initially with a balance sheet substantiation project. The task is to help reduce any exposures to financial losses post contract finality. You will review technical reinsurance assets & liabilities items, confirm validity of items through extensive investigations and recommend further action to address historical items.
This will mostly involve detailed reconciliations of reinsurance assets (recoverables) and liabilities (payables), ensuring all reinsurance transactions are properly recorded and reported with documented evidence to meet any audit requirements, and weekly reporting on key movements and reconciliation status to senior management.
Applicants must have extensive knowledge of reinsurance concepts, including proportional and non-proportional treaties (including contractual acquisition costs, OCAs and reinstatements calculations), experience of handling internal/external audit balance substantiation relating to balance sheet or income statement items and providing documented evidence, and strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills to analyse and correct discrepancies through various sources of data.
