I have partnered with a global brokerage, who are looking to add experienced Global Upstream Placing Broker to their Energy division. The successful candidate will be responsible for placing complex upstream energy risks into the Lloyd’s and international insurance markets, delivering high-quality client service, and maintaining strong relationships with underwriters and stakeholders across the globe.
This role requires technical expertise, market awareness, and the ability to negotiate optimal coverage for clients operating in exploration, production, drilling, and associated upstream activities.

Key Responsibilities Placement & Negotiation
  • Place and negotiate upstream energy risks within the Lloyd’s, London, and international markets.

  • Structure, negotiate, and secure competitive terms, conditions, and pricing aligned with client objectives.

  • Prepare and present risk submissions, market presentations, and supporting documentation.

  • Manage renewals and mid-term adjustments, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.

Client Management
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships across global energy accounts.

  • Attend client meetings (in-person and virtual) to understand operational exposures, contractual obligations, and risk profiles.

  • Provide technical guidance to clients on market trends, policy coverage, and alternative program structures.

  • Act as a key point of contact throughout the placement lifecycle, ensuring a seamless and compliant process.

Market Engagement
  • Develop effective working relationships with key underwriters across the upstream energy market.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market conditions, capacity changes, and emerging risks.

  • Identify opportunities for new business and cross-selling within the Energy sector.
