About the Role
My client is seeking an experienced Motor Fleet Underwriter to join their Dublin-based underwriting team. This is a hybrid role offering flexibility while still giving you the opportunity to work closely with colleagues and brokers.

In this position, you will take ownership of both new business and renewals, support broker relationships, and uphold strong underwriting discipline to ensure profitability and adherence to internal authority limits. You’ll play a key role in broker development, operational efficiency, and maintaining the high underwriting standards the business is known for.

Key Responsibilities
New Business Underwriting

• Evaluate incoming enquiries to ensure alignment with appetite.

• Determine appropriate premiums using internal pricing tools and models.

• Negotiate effectively with brokers to secure new business.

Renewal Underwriting

• Assess policy performance, loss ratios and renewal viability.

• Price renewals accurately while aligning with profitability targets.

• Maintain strong broker communication to achieve optimal terms.

General Responsibilities

• Work within your defined underwriting authority at all times.

• Build and maintain strong relationships across the broker panel.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve processes and efficiency.

• Maintain accurate underwriting files, documentation and audit standards.

About You

• Proven experience underwriting motor fleet business.

• Demonstrated success in winning and developing new business.

• Strong commercial awareness and decision-making capability.

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

• Able to work independently and collaboratively.

• Strong organisation and time management skills.

• Understanding of relevant regulatory and compliance requirements.
