I am working with a London based broking house who are seeking a highly capable Senior Casualty Broker to lead and grow an international portfolio of Casualty business. The ideal candidate will possess deep London Market expertise, a proven record of new business generation across multiple territories, and the ability to manage complex global programmes for multinational clients. This role requires strong technical knowledge, exceptional client-facing capability, and leadership across broking, product development, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities Portfolio Growth & Business DevelopmentLead and expand a diverse international Casualty portfolio across the UK, US, Canada, Australia/New Zealand, Europe, Middle East, and APAC.
Drive new business through:
Approaching existing internal clients not currently placing Casualty lines.
Developing new agency and broker relationships globally.
Implementing structured cross-selling strategies across business units.
Deliver targeted new business results each year, contributing directly to divisional revenue growth.
Identify coverage gaps and deliver innovative, market-leading solutions (e.g., re-structure or rewrite existing programs where required).
Act as lead broker on complex global CGL programmes for large multinational insureds with significant US and international exposures.
Manage broking strategy and execution for risks with cross-class considerations.
Maintain strong relationships with London market underwriters, MGAs, and capacity providers.
Place binder and delegated authority referrals, working across multiple market participants.
Serve as product lead or owner for specialist lines forming the primary point of contact for inbound placements.
Conduct peer review and provide final sign-off on all Casualty slips, endorsements, and documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Provide ad-hoc technical support to Property and Construction teams where expert oversight is required.
Stay current with regulatory frameworks (including EU placement requirements) and complete all required compliance training.
Lead and participate in high-level client meetings globally, preparing and hosting sessions for key accounts.
Develop strong multinational client relationships, ensuring exceptional service delivery.
Work closely with international offices (particularly US, Canada, Australia, and Europe) to facilitate aligned global broking strategies.
Mentor junior team members, offering guidance on technical queries, client handling, and career development.
Participate actively in weekly management meetings, contributing insights on budget performance, market trends, capacity conditions, and emerging risks.
Encourage proactive collaboration and cross-selling within the organisation.
