A London based MGA business is seeking a qualified accountant to join them as a Senior Accountant.
Reporting to the Head of Finance the successful applicant will focus on implementing and managing rigorous processes and approved internal controls to ensure the complete, accurate and timely processing of financial transactions through the company systems in accordance with UK GAAP and ensure relevant and accurate financial reporting is provided to the business and external parties, in accordance with both US GAAP and local accounting policies.
This will include premium/claims related entries and non-technical journals (accruals, prepayments, provisions, VAT and corporate tax, payroll, statutory adjustments, deferred income, stock, equity, etc.) and related reconciliations, intercompany bookings, reconciliations and settlements, balance sheet validation/substantiation processes, processing and managing claims fee invoices payment requests via Xchanging /ECF, completing financial related reporting to regulators including FCA RMAR returns, and preparing management accounts, variance analysis, forecasts to year end and KPIs using group templates.
Applicants must be qualified accountants with relevant accounting experience and detailed understanding of UK GAAP (IFRS and US GAAP experience advantageous) gained within an insurance business and have knowledge of the workings of Xchanging.
