We are working with a leading insurer to appoint a Lead PI Development Underwriter into a high-performing, tight-knit Manchester team, backed by the strength and infrastructure of a wider, well-established insurance group.
This is a senior new business-focused role, ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys being out in the market, meeting brokers face-to-face, and winning business across Manchester and the wider North West with an established profile.
The role
- Lead new business production for the Professional Indemnity portfolio in the region
- Spend time on the road building and deepening broker relationships
- Act as a senior figure within the local team, helping to set direction and maintain a strong market presence
- Work closely with internal stakeholders while retaining autonomy and visibility in the market
- Play a key role in driving sustainable and profitable growth
About you
- Proven experience as a PI underwriter with a strong new business focus
- Comfortable and credible winning business face-to-face in the Manchester broker market
- Commercial, personable, and confident operating as a lead figure externally
- Enjoys autonomy but values being part of a close, collaborative team
