Senior Manager - International Reinsurance Business Development

An exciting opportunity has arisen with a well-established and growing international insurance group for an experienced Senior Manager - International Reinsurance Business Development professional to join its expanding international division.

This role offers the chance to play a key part in developing and growing a profitable international facultative reinsurance portfolio across multiple lines of business. Working closely with brokers, cedants, underwriting teams, and senior stakeholders, you will help drive strategic growth initiatives across international markets.

The successful candidate will be responsible for building and strengthening broker relationships, identifying new business opportunities, supporting renewals, and contributing to the overall commercial growth of the division. This is a highly relationship-focused role suited to someone with strong market visibility and an established international network within the reinsurance space.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage relationships with international brokers and cedants
• Drive new business generation and support portfolio growth strategies
• Assist in managing renewals and identifying cross-selling opportunities
• Maintain strong market awareness across global reinsurance markets
• Work closely with underwriting and internal teams to deliver tailored solutions
• Provide market feedback and commercial insights to senior management
• Represent the business professionally within the international market

Requirements

• 10+ years’ experience within reinsurance, insurance broking, underwriting, or business development
• Strong understanding of facultative reinsurance and international markets
• Proven track record of developing broker relationships and generating business growth
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
• Commercially driven with strong relationship management capabilities
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
• Professional insurance qualifications such as CII, ACII, or Dip CII are advantageous
