Account Executive – Commercial Insurance

I'm currently working with a well-established insurance brokerage that is looking to appoint an experienced and motivated Account Executive to join its commercial team. This opportunity is based in either Leeds and offers a hybrid working arrangement.

The successful individual will inherit an established portfolio of long-standing commercial clients, with a clear focus on retention, development and growth. Supported by a team of experienced Account Handlers, the role offers the opportunity to build strong client relationships while identifying and securing new business opportunities across the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing, retaining and developing an existing portfolio of commercial insurance clients.
  • Presenting insurance and risk management solutions to secure renewals and win new business.
  • Identifying and capitalising on cross-selling and upselling opportunities.
  • Generating new business through both company-provided leads and personal prospecting activity.
  • Achieving agreed targets relating to quotes, sales and income generation.
  • Developing a thorough understanding of clients’ operations, risks and insurance requirements.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, insurers and key stakeholders.
  • Ensuring all activity is compliant with FCA regulations and internal procedures.
  • Working closely with colleagues to support overall team performance and client service delivery.
Candidate Profile
  • Proven commercial insurance experience is essential.
  • Demonstrable success in business development, client retention and portfolio growth.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills, both face-to-face and over the phone.
  • Comfortable networking and developing new business opportunities.
  • Experience working directly with clients and insurers.
  • Organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A proactive and ambitious approach, with a genuine desire to develop and progress within the insurance market.
  • Knowledge of Acturis would be advantageous.
