Commercial Account Executive
The Role
We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established insurance brokerage seeking an experienced Commercial Account Executive to join their growing team.
This is a client-facing role focused on developing and managing a portfolio of commercial clients, retaining existing business, and driving growth through new business acquisition. You'll work closely with senior leadership and internal teams to deliver tailored insurance solutions while providing an exceptional level of service throughout the client lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and grow a portfolio of commercial clients through networking, referrals, market relationships and prospect opportunities.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified prospects and new business opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell and up-sell products and services across the wider business.
- Develop long-term client relationships that support retention and revenue growth.
- Provide expert advice on insurance programmes tailored to clients’ needs and risk profiles.
- Manage renewals and mid-term adjustments proactively to ensure excellent client outcomes.
- Negotiate with insurers to secure competitive terms and coverage solutions.
- Maintain regular contact with clients, ensuring high levels of service and satisfaction.
- Stay informed on market developments and identify opportunities to support business growth.
- Ensure all activity is conducted in line with regulatory and compliance requirements.
About You
We're looking for an experienced Commercial Account Executive with a strong background in commercial insurance and a proven ability to build lasting client relationships.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Commercial Account Executive, Account Manager or Business Development Executive within the insurance market.
- Strong track record of retaining and developing existing client portfolios while generating new business.
- Broad commercial insurance knowledge across multiple classes of business.
- Excellent relationship-building, negotiation and communication skills.
- Commercially minded with a strong understanding of client needs and market opportunities.
- Ability to identify and convert prospects into long-term clients.
- Strong understanding of insurance products, placement strategies and risk management principles.
- Highly organised, self-motivated and able to work independently.
