The Opportunity
An established insurance brokerage is looking to appoint a Senior Aviation Technician to support its specialist Aviation team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Aviation Technician who has strong technical knowledge and a good understanding of the London Market. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the broking team across the full lifecycle of Aviation placements, ensuring business is processed accurately, efficiently and in line with regulatory and market requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide senior-level technical and administrative support to the Aviation broking team.
- Manage the processing of new business, renewals, mid-term adjustments and endorsements.
- Prepare and check slips, endorsements, contracts, submissions and other market documentation.
- Liaise with insurers, underwriters, brokers and clients to ensure documentation and information is accurate and delivered within agreed timescales.
- Handle premium processing, invoicing, settlements and associated financial transactions.
- Maintain accurate records across internal systems and ensure documentation is complete and up to date.
- Support the placement and administration of complex Aviation risks across the London Market and international territories.
- Review policy documentation and identify discrepancies, resolving issues with relevant stakeholders.
- Assist brokers with the preparation of renewal and new business information.
- Work closely with compliance, finance and operations teams to ensure all processes meet internal and regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance and technical support to more junior members of the team where required.
- Take ownership of complex queries and ensure they are resolved promptly.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Significant experience working as an Aviation Technician within an insurance broking environment.
- Strong knowledge of Aviation insurance and London Market processes.
- Experience supporting complex Aviation placements, ideally across both new business and renewals.
- A strong understanding of insurance documentation, policy wordings, endorsements and market processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with confidence dealing with brokers, clients and underwriters.
- Good knowledge of FCA and regulatory requirements relevant to insurance broking.
- The ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks and operate effectively within a specialist team.
- Experience using relevant broking/insurance systems and strong Microsoft Office skills.
