Technical Reporting Accountant – 12 Month FTC

What You'll Do:
- Own the technical close process, including the preparation and production of monthly and quarterly insurance technical results under UK GAAP and IFRS 17.
- Produce comprehensive quarterly closing packs and conduct detailed financial reviews, analysing variances and investigating unusual movements.
- Support process improvement initiatives within the financial reporting domain, contributing to system enhancements and change projects.
- Liaise directly with external auditors and ensure all reporting requirements are met with accuracy and timeliness.
- Lead or assist in ongoing process and procedural change projects pertinent to core financial reporting, continuously seeking efficiency and control improvements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Accountant with at least 3-5 years of experience in the insurance industry.
- Proven experience in handling or significantly contributing to the technical close for a general insurer.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in MI reporting.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and SUMIFS.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities, with experience liaising with external auditors.
- Robust organizational skills, with excellent task planning and time management.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with IFRS 17 reporting.
- Knowledge of process improvement methodologies.
- Previous experience in insurance technical accounting or financial reporting roles.
