Project Manager – Insurance / London Market
Location: London / Hybrid
Salary: £73,000
We’re working with a growing business within the insurance market that is looking to hire an experienced Project Manager to take ownership of a range of projects focused on business change, process improvement and the implementation of new solutions.
This is a varied role where you’ll be responsible for managing projects from initial scoping and planning through to delivery and close-out, working closely with stakeholders across the business to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required standard.
The role will involve:
- Managing projects from initiation through to completion, including budgets, resources, timelines and delivery plans.
- Working with stakeholders to agree project objectives, approach and deliverables.
- Identifying and managing project risks, issues and dependencies.
- Developing and maintaining project plans, including quality, risk and communication plans.
- Monitoring progress against agreed timelines, budgets and resource requirements, taking action where necessary.
- Managing change requests and ensuring these are appropriately assessed and documented.
- Providing regular project updates to senior management and key stakeholders.
- Ensuring projects are delivered to the required quality standards and formally closed with lessons learned captured.
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising effectively across competing requirements.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Proven experience working across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Strong experience delivering projects using Waterfall methodologies – this is essential.
- Agile/project delivery experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and resources.
- Experience managing project budgets and monitoring costs.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills.
- The confidence to make decisions, manage expectations and resolve issues under pressure.
- The ability to work independently while also leading and supporting project teams.
- Previous experience within insurance or the London Market would be advantageous, although this is not essential.
This would suit an experienced Project Manager who enjoys taking ownership of projects and working across both business and technical teams. Insurance experience is desirable, but the key requirement is strong end-to-end project management experience with a solid Waterfall delivery background.
