We are supporting our client with the hire of a remotely based Life & Health Underwriter to provide underwriting expertise across their individual portfolio and support customers, intermediaries and internal stakeholders.
What you’ll be doing
You will provide an accurate, efficient and consistent underwriting service, supporting key business outcomes and maintaining a strong customer proposition.
Key responsibilities
Assess risks effectively within operational underwriting
Provide robust rationale for decisions and refer cases to third parties
Communicate decisions clearly, managing expectations professionally
Act as a point of contact for internal teams
Support retrospective underwriting for claims
Manage workload to meet internal SLAs and quality standards
Drive efficiency improvements and cross company initiatives
Identify and escalate risk and suspicious activity
About You
Demonstrable UK Life & Health Underwriting experience
Strong stakeholder management
Confidence handling objections and managing complaints
Organisation and independent time management skills
