12-month Fixed-Term Contract | London / Hybrid
We are working with a leading insurance business to recruit a Data Retention Analyst to support an important programme of work focused on improving data retention, records management and information governance.
The organisation has a complex technology estate, including legacy systems, SharePoint environments, shared drives and multiple information repositories. It is looking to establish a more consistent approach to how information is classified, retained, archived and ultimately disposed of.
This is a hands-on opportunity for someone with specialist data retention experience who can help develop the framework and, importantly, drive its practical implementation across the business.
The Role
Support the development and implementation of a data retention framework.
Review existing retention practices and identify gaps across legacy systems and information repositories.
Develop retention assessment templates, schedules and supporting documentation.
Engage with IT teams, business stakeholders and system owners to establish appropriate retention requirements.
Provide advice on retention periods, archival requirements and defensible deletion.
Support technology and data migration projects, ensuring retention requirements are properly addressed.
Help implement retention controls across SharePoint, shared drives and other business systems.
Work with technology teams and external vendors to embed effective retention processes.
About You
We are keen to speak with individuals who have a background in:
Data retention, records management or information lifecycle management.
Developing or implementing data retention frameworks and schedules.
Delivering retention or information governance projects.
Reviewing information held across complex systems and legacy environments.
Advising on archival, retention and defensible deletion requirements.
Experience with technologies such as Microsoft Purview, Mimecast, OneTrust, OpenText / OpenTwins or TRACE would be particularly beneficial.
Candidates from financial services, insurance, technology or consultancy backgrounds will be considered. Previous experience as a Data Protection Officer (DPO), particularly with a specialism in retention, could also be highly relevant.
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a specialist workstream within a wider data transformation programme, working across a complex business environment and helping shape its approach to information governance.
12-month fixed-term contract.
London-based, hybrid working (typically two days in the office).
Competitive salary, dependent on experience.
Benefits package including pension, private medical insurance, life assurance and income protection.
If you have demonstrable experience in data retention and are looking for a hands-on opportunity to make a real impact, we'd be keen to hear from you.
