Our client, an Essex based Insurance Broker, have a new opening for a Claims Handler. Duties will include handling an interesting blend of Property, Liability, Motor/Fleet and Personal Injury claims.
Applicants should have prior Motor, Property or Liability claims experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ability to effectively manage a claim from start to settlement, including but not limited to the following:
- processing new insurance claims notifications
- collecting accurate information and documents to proceed with a claim
- analysing a claim made by a policymaker
- guiding policyholders on how to proceed with the claim
- contacting third party services as and when required.
- Ability to recognise a potentially fraudulent claim and understanding the process to follow and who to make aware if this is the case.
- Ensuring fair settlement of a claim and understanding cases where full payment may not be made.
- To understand own area of authority and recognise if the customer call / query needs to be passed to a senior member of the team to advise or resolve.
- To ensure that any customer complaints are identified and handled strictly within the Company’s complaints procedure.
- To ensure compliance with local policies and procedures, customer service standards and external compliance regulations.
