Our City based client have a new opening for a Reinsurance Technician. Duties will include providing support to the Reinsurance Team to enable it to perform various outwards reinsurance technical functions which includes the identification calculation, advising and processing of outwards reinsurance recoveries, payment/collection of reinsurance amounts, responses to queries raised and management reporting as necessary.
Applicants should have prior Reinsurance Technician experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
To assist in the identification calculation, advising and processing of outwards reinsurance recoveries.
Responding to outwards reinsurance technical reinsurer queries and liaising with brokers and/or reinsurers directly.
Assist in the maintenance of central files used to record outwards reinsurance losses advised to the market to ensure billings are issued on a timely basis and in line with contractual requirements.
Accept LORS messages for Syndicate portfolios and allocate to relevant reinsurance accruals within underwriting system.
Assist outwards reinsurance Credit Control / Commutation teams with collections and commutations.
Supporting arbitrations / legal activity.
Assist in reinsurance reporting required for internal management purposes, Board reporting and external submissions to Lloyd’s and regulators.
Assist Reinsurance Manager on specific business initiatives, gathering data and involving other business areas as required.
